Dashboard Interface Design

A student dashboard concept designed to make schedules, assignments, announcements, and academic information easier to access at a glance. The project explores information hierarchy, responsive layouts, reusable components, and a scalable visual system.
Project Overview:
The Challenge
Student dashboards often contain a large amount of information competing for attention. The goal was to create a simple, approachable interface that prioritizes the information students need most while keeping secondary actions easy to access.

Wireframe
I first constructed a rough wireframe as a starting point. This helped establish the overall structure before introducing any visual styling. The goal was to create a layout that could surface the most important student information without overwhelming the user. consisting of a sidebar on the left and a card system on a grid as main content.

In Progress Version
Early on, I decided on a floating grid system that would be visually appealing and could possibly be adaptive to changing priorities as the school year progressed. Some tiles, such as the progress bar, could be dynamically updated as time went on. I envisioned this dashboard also being customizable by the user. By this point there were colors added to elements that required action, such as the Submit and the Overdue alerts.

Component System
As the interface developed, I created reusable components in Figma for recurring UI elements such as buttons, navigation items, and content cards. This allowed the interface to remain consistent while making future iterations easier to manage.

Responsive Design
Responsive design is an important part of web and UI design, so elements were designed to be scalable to screen size with minimal adjustment.

Final Design
The final interface combines a clear information hierarchy with a flexible visual system designed to keep frequently used actions and information easily accessible. Reusable components and responsive layouts allow the system to scale while maintaining visual consistency.
This project strengthened my approach to translating complex information into simple and approchable interfaces while keeping usability and visual clarity.
